Hello,

like Rolf  in the other topic I'm looking for a new tft display, too. I use Windows and more often a Linux distribution (Ubuntu, Ubuntu Studio or Arch) to be frank. Well, there are three models on my list.
As I learned there will be no chance to see any of them in a shop in a reasonable near town.
So my question is, which would you choose or not and why?

Here are the candidates:

A) Eizo EV2333WH

B) NEC EA231WMi-BK

C) HP LP2475w

The prices should be in the range between EUR 400,-- to EUR 600,-- (ok, the Eizo is less but it was also recommened as suitable for the working on photos)

If anyone of you would like to propse another better suited tft you are invited to do so.

Foto2009, I have just bought a Viewsonic vg2227wm and I am quite happy with it. It is about €200 in Germany. It is not the best, but it is quite reasonable for the money.
Like most cheaper monitors the very dark greys and black are not "medical imaging standards" . I found it very difficult to buy a smallish screen with out paying the price of a Eizo or NEC . Most displays are now a 14:9 and unfortunately that means that if you use a dual screen setup, a 21 inch is a lot of real estate on a desk.
19 and 21 inch in 4:3 mode displays are difficult to find as most people go for 23 -25 inch displays.
The other problem is that most displays now come with pre-tuned color/brightness settings. So there will be a cinema , sports, lowlight and vibrant settings for example. Viewsonic is one of the few brands that still allow manual colour settings  and have a s-RGB setting that is remarkably close to the s-RGB setting as per the Spyder colorimeter. I am not saying that this is the quality of an Eizo or Nec but if you are not a professional photographer you may want to look at this model range
