After seeing Nachbarnebenan's excellent photo of a flying gull , I've been inspired to try to capture one for myself:

It does help when they're fighting over a chicken carcass they've pulled out of a rubbish bin.

Nice Kev, but I actually like "we have lift off" better (on 23hq birds) The light, is it early morning or late afternoon? It is a deliciously rich light.      Edit spelling mistake

Thank you.  It was about 2pm, but in Brixham on new years day the sun isn't all that high in the sky.

I guess I can brag on my friend Yi Feng's bird gallery- have a look -  I think he is phenomenal.
Check out his bald eagle gallery.  I believe their shot off the Hudson River near West Point.

Wow, all of good photographic quality, and some are really, really good!

Today I looked for some of my own birds shots.
I also have made some good birds shots,
some are even better and at least one (or two?) is (are) amazing.

But I needed a lot of trials to do it right, and many were
out of focus and also many were near to crap.
So I know how challenging it is to do things like your friend did.
(At least for myself I can say: it also needs luck to get it right,
 or much more experience.)

But for those some better shots, it was worth the effort.

I hope during the next one or two weeks I will have time to
go through my preselection again and host them on 23hq.

I will mention it here then.
