Hello,
yes, it was an interesting episode.
But this episode was not only interesting regarding the
GIMP-stuff and how to use the tools. Also the software-patents theme
was important.
The GIMP-stuff was amazing enough, and I need to look
at it again to completely "get it". Maybe writing down some notes
while looking at it the second time makes sense.
But this is always the case, when there is a lot of information,
and the meetthegimp.org-vid-tutorials are full of information, IMHO.
The first time I directly try to follow in realtime with GIMP.
The next time I need to get all the information settled.
writing notes on it might be the right way.
Regarding the theme of software-patents I want to bring in
the link to the petition against software-patents here:
http://www.stopsoftwarepatents.eu/Please read the information and sign the petition...
...and spread the word, please!
Softwarepatents are absolutely contarily to free software,
and even commercial (and also closed source software) vendors
can get problems by them. But for open source they are extremely
unhealthy.
For Software there is the copyright law, and it's well suited.
Software-patents are... well, how to say it... they are... hmhhhh,
they are .... evil.
So please sign the petition, if you agree with the arguments!
Best,
GIMPel
